Dermal Fillers
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a gel-like substance that can be injected into the soft tissues of the face. In our clinic we only use Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers as these are fully dissolvable and therefore the safest. HA attracts and binds to water within the soft tissues providing volume and hydration. This property makes them the ideal treatment for restoring age-related volume loss, adding contour, re-shaping or enhancing features and also softening lines and wrinkles. On average fillers last between 6 and 18 months, with most people maintaining their results with treatments once per year. In the clinic we only use premium filler brands such as Juvederm, Teoxane and Intraline.

What to expect
Dermal fillers are injected using small needles, or in some instances a cannula (blunt tipped needle). This can be uncomfortable and therefore topical numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure. Results are visible immediately, however over a two week period the HA filler will bind to water and integrate with the soft tissues, giving a final smooth and natural result. Bruising, swelling and redness are common after dermal fillers, whilst these are often mild and only last a few days, some people experience bruising for up to two weeks post-procedure, therefore you should factor this in when booking a date for your treatment.
