What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are a gel-like substance injected into the soft tissues of the face to restore volume, enhance contours, or soften lines and wrinkles. At K V Medical Aesthetics, we exclusively use Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers, which are fully dissolvable and considered the safest option.

HA naturally attracts and binds water within the skin, providing subtle volume, hydration, and a smooth, youthful appearance. This makes it ideal for addressing age-related volume loss, enhancing facial features, or gently reshaping areas such as lips, cheeks, and jawline.

We only use premium, trusted filler brands such as Juvederm®, Teoxane®, and Intraline®, ensuring both safety and high-quality, natural-looking results. On average, results last between 6 and 18 months, with most patients maintaining their look with around one treatment per year.

What to expect

Dermal fillers are administered using fine needles or, in some cases, a cannula (a blunt-tipped instrument) for precision and comfort. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to minimise discomfort.

Results are visible immediately, but over the following two weeks the filler integrates with the soft tissues, creating a smooth, natural finish. Mild redness, swelling, or bruising is common and usually resolves within a few days, though some clients may experience minor bruising for up to two weeks. It’s worth considering this when planning the timing of your treatment.
