Anti-Wrinkle Injections
('Botox®')
What are anti-wrinkle injections?
Anti-wrinkle injections (commonly known as Botox®) are 'Botlinum Toxin A' injections administered into the specific muscles responsible for facial expressions, such as frowning. These injections temporarily reduce the movement of muscles which can improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and prevent the formation of new ones. Botox® can also be used in the lower face to correct a 'gummy smile' or dimpled chin.

What to expect
'Botox®' involves multiple injections into the target muscles. Needles used are very small and discomfort is minimal. There is no down-time required and only a small risk of localised redness and bruising at injection sites.
The injections take between 2 and 7 days to start working, and take 14 days to reach full effect. At this time you will be offered a review appointment where any necessary tweaks can be made. The duration of results is variable, however most commonly results last 3 - 4 months before movement returns to normal and repeat treatment is required to maintain results.
